Honestly, its not bad. I wouldnt recommend it to someone who isnt an RPG fan, but the interesting thing about this game is the real time action aspect. One thing about RPG's i dont particularly like is third person type FF action (you know, the standard, which is totally fine), but Fallout 76 is a little different. I say this as a casual RPG fan, but huge action/adventure game....

I'm not definitely in for 1, because i spent so much, but for $10 i might get it

thanks OP

It looks like it's free to play on pc, requires xbox gold on xbox, and ps+ on playstation since its online only. But there is also an optional subscription called Fallout 1st which adds benefits, like in-game currency, emotes, etc. Is that accurate?

I've been playing it since I picked it up at GameStop on Black Friday. $10 might be a good price point for this. It's kinda glitchy here and there (it reminds me of Fallout 3 in that regard), but nothing game-breaking. The new Perk card system is a bit hard to get used to, but it also improves your flexibility a lot at low levels.

The events seem to respawn often, which gets annoying if you just want to walk through a town without getting attacked by agricultural robots. Building up resources is a grind, but not really tough. I have yet to run into any griefers. Having to worry about food and water sucks, but some of the perks help with that. My biggest peeve is the lack of a text chat...done of us just don't want to use a mic.

don't get it for Xbox if you don't have gold. It's required to play. I rented it from Redbox to try, but couldn't play at all because I don't have gold subscription. Might be that way for ps4, but I wouldn't know. Anyone know if it's the same for pc? Would I need some kind of subscription?

Appreciate the post. But this game is horribad. Personally bought and it played. This game only appeals to a niche group of players that don't mind playing an undeveloped game. Plus the store and "fallout 1st" is EA levels of micro transactions. Worst rated fallout game in history. Avoid.

Fallout 76 is free to play this weekend, so you can try it out to see if you like it before buying.

Maybe order from Amazon at this price with slow shipping and then cancel if it turns out you don't like the trial?

Well, if everyone or mostly everyone is echoing similar negative experiences, then it might be wise to be cautious until it's been improved or skip the experience altogether.

Ok, I'll bite.

Using, "other people's experience" is sort of the hallmark of evolution......no?
Grog poked the bear, the bear ate Grog - don't poke the bear.

How could you possibly live a life (you, not in general, I'm asking you) that isn't built on doing or not doing things that you've learned about through the personal experience of others?

I get the idea of, "some people think guacamole is amazing and some think it is trash, so you'll have to decide for yourself", but barring those types of subjective ideas - I simply think it's probably impossible not to be a hypocrite using the statement you made.
