So what's the point of this tool? Looks like it does a lot of stuff built into windows and your free bundles mobo/hdd tools.
It shows the S.M.A.R.T. data, which you can get maybe easier using the free Crystal Disk Info, has some features that can be occasionally useful, but I use it mainly to monitor hard drive temps using a USB drive dock or a hard disk in an external USB housing. Without active cooling a conventional drive can get hot enough to damage the drive &/or the data you're writing to that drive.
Just a week ago, one of my drives had CRC error (that usually is a bad data cable). Hard Disk Sentinel showed the error in the main page. So I saw it. I opened the PC case and replaced the data cable. No more increasing in CRC error. I was using a Hard Disk Sentinel from 2016. Now I'm using this newer one.
