Verizon waived the activation fee and will send the phones directly to my home. I only had to pay for shipping today.
Regular listed price is $899, so it was $400 off the regular price
I was looking at "renewed" iPhone XR's on amazon and ebay for the past few weeks and they were all around $500. So I was happy with this deal.
Be aware that if you are buying for gifts (like I was), they do text the phones of those who are getting new upgrades, and so there is not much of a surprise for Christmas morning.

I am looking at the Verizon wireless more closely right now, and I see the discount is only listed for the 512GB, but in the online chat, I was given the option of the 64 GB for $400 off, as well. So yes, I guess it is YMMV.
