Saw this in store and was kind of disappointed it's not as sturdy as my Milwaukee toolbox . But for 500 it's a good deal if ,your in the market for a toolbox . It's pretty to look at too if your into that sorta thing .

Well I bit... I just got home with one.

The black is also on sale if you find it locally to you https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-4...1000792508

I have no doubt I will be downgrading quality from my old Mac cart, but I am out of space in what I got so I needed a top unit which my current box cant use. Also I like the place up top for my cordless tools & the chargers.

What to choose my local HD has the husky 61 inch wide by 18 deep 10 drawer chest for the same price. Could really use a decent tool cabinet for home garage.

If you keep waiting, these will keep dropping. Last year, I picked up 7 different $800 boxes for ~$250-$270

The metal seems to have a thinner gauge size than Habor Freight as well as weaker sliding rails.

Reminds me of this video of the larger size Home Depot's Husky tool chest vs Habor Freight. Habor Freight really put the Husky tool chest to shame. Might be the same case for this Kobalt chest.

Now that would be a slick deal. But at $500 unless you do some serious mechanic work in your home garage i dont see how you justify this price. The $100 husky / Craftmans in a similar style rolling chest would probably serve you just as well.

Now this gets way more attractive in the Sub-$350 range.

This guy did his research. I've owned all of the Kobalt 3000, Milwaukee newer chest and a lot of husky and craftsman midlevel and entry. I'd stick to the HF ones all day for this price.

I saw these and played with them at the store and was just kinda sorta impressed. I am waiting some more time for them to drop before I go for it.

Ummm, that HF box costs $1200. It sure as hell better be better than significantly less expensive boxes.

At $498 it is a decent chest if you are looking for this combination of drawer depths vs comparable options. The metal gauge seems adequate IMO. The top area is a questionable use of space to me. I suppose one use would be a charging station for power tools since there is a power strip in that area. I did consolidate 3 medium size tool chests and still have room to spare.

I negotiated for the floor model last spring and paid less than $300. They can mark this down considerably as it is a seasonal item. Or was when I bought mine. For those only interested at a lower price point, you may want to wait it out until after the Holidays.
