Lenovo ThinkPad L390 (13") Laptop Specs:

Processor
8th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-8265U (1.60GHz, up to 3.90GHz with Turbo Boost, 6MB Cache)

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64

Display Type
13.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, anti-glare, touchscreen

Memory
8GB DDR4 2400MHz

Hard Drive
128GB SSD PCIe

Graphics
Integrated Intel® UHD Graphics 620

Battery
3 cell Li-Ion 45Wh

Camera
720p HD

Fingerprint Reader
YES

Wireless
Intel® Dual Band 9560 AC (2 x 2) & Bluetooth® 5.0 with vPro

It weighs ONLY 3.22 lbs (1.46 kg). Not bad as it looks very light and portable for a sturdy business laptop.

Lenovo claims that the battery should last for 14 hours with 45Wh and Rapid Charge technology. But, definitely should take care of the work day is what I found online.

And, two Type-C ports with DisplayPort and Charging on both the ports - never seen on a laptop at this price range.

2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1** (one Always On)
2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1** Type-C (Power Delivery, DisplayPort, Data transfer)

Terrific deal, IMHO!

Youtube review for updating RAM + SSD. Looks very easy to swap it.

RAM can be upgraded to 32 GB and SSD upto 512 GB.

And, two type-C ports, which I have not seen in the $500 range laptops.

2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1** (one Always On)
2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1** Type-C (Power Delivery, DisplayPort, Data transfer)
Headphone/mic combo
HDMI 1.4
4-in-1 Micro SD card reader (SD, MMC, SDHC, SDXC)
Mini RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet (Full-sized adapter sold separately)
Be very wary of Lenovo direct and these deals.

Recently bought an X270 on a similar deal, they advertised one item, delivered another and couldn't care less when contacted that they did a classic bait and switch. Pictures and description clearly showed features that were not included. Only one spec option & price to choose from so no confusion there.

Eventually, after escalating, they offered a further 10% discount or a free return - You should also check Lenovo-related forums about how long they can take to refund before you rely on that!

In this day and age, a big company like Lenovo is not going to simply do a bait and switch as they are NOT an ebay reseller. Maybe, a honest mistake by one of their package handlers as these things happen in any business.

Even if they do some mischief, do you really think that we can't go after them? We can dispute the charge, take it to BBB, etc. It's not as simple as you claim to be but these mistakes, like I said, do happen for time to time. They will eventually correct it.

FWIW, the order email that I received clearly says the part and describes the config in detail as shown below:

Can we all stop relying on the BBB as if they do anything or have any power. They are just a review site like consumer reports. They are not an actual government organization and have no legal power to enforce anything. If you pay them enough money they can change your review to anything you like.

very interesting that something this small has two sodimm slots.

can anyone else confirm this has no backlit keyboard? most things have backlit keyboard nowaday.

I have the motile m142. have a few minor issues with it. wondering if i should switch to this one. The usb c with power delivery and DP is a real plus..

I beg to differ. I had complained two times in the past and both times I got positive results after involving them. In fact, the business, that I complained about, called within a day and settled amicably!

No backlit unless it comes as a surprise when I get it in 2 days (got the shipping notice already).

Both the type-C ports can be used for DP, charging, and data transfer. Haven't seen two type-C ports in a laptop in this price range. Also, it has a fingerprint reader.

I sound like a Lenovo salesman in this thread. Wink

PWM detected could be the concern of this laptop if someone has very sensitive eyes...
Notebookcheck:
"The display backlight flickers at 30490 Hz (Likely utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 99 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.
The frequency of 30490 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering."

Got the Lenovo Flex 6 14" 2-in-1 last week for $305 and have been very happy with it. Basically same specs hardware wise, minus one USB-C port and the processor difference (I got 8th gen i3).

This seems like a really good too, but I will keep what I have for ~$200 less.

FWIW, I didn't think I would use the "tablet" functionality but was pleasantly surprised to find out it actually works better for me than my ipad for lying on the couch playing games, browsing web, etc. I really like the 2-in-1 design!

All in all, I really like Lenovo's build quality. Top notch. If you are in the market for a device like this I dont think you could go wrong with this. Their IPS screens are stellar!

I bought this Acer Aspire 5, 14" Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U, 8GB DDR4, 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, for the $15 buck less and $50 cash back that was posted a few days ago. The post got noooo love here on Slickdeals but I took the plunge. I'm looking at the specs and it seems better. What am I missing? Why did it get no love compared to this Lenovo?

The Thinkpad keyboard alone makes it a better deal
Never mind the superior build quality and display.

Good deal. L390 Yoga would be hot, but this is still a good price for a solid, upgradeable machine.
Yoga L390 is available too. Shows backlight keyboard and active pen included. Paid $572 plus tax for the 256gb version. Probably going to keep this and return the three other laptops I bought this month. This looks like the best overall bang for the buck, and I've been a sucker for the trackpoint ever since the IBM clicky keyboards that had them.

I'm in the same predicament... not sure $180 is worth usb-c charging (along with intel chip, less fan speeding up, dual channel memory, better trackpad, better WiFi). If this was sub-3lbs, I'd gladly pay the difference, but at 3.25lbs I'm still on the fence and will live with my motile m142

It looks like THINK10 is expired. The Lenovo site put in a new coupon for me THINK5 which only gives 5% off.
