Some people prefer the Q70 apparently due to better details in darker scenes. Not sure it's worth paying the higher price.
I went to Best Buy to buy the q70 after reading countless reviews. The tv just looks so much worse in the store unless watched directly in front. Also had horrible reflections. Glad I went with the q80.

Yes the Q80 is better with reflections. In a store with lots of florescent lights it's going to make it look a lot worse than in a home setting where lighting can be controlled. And yes Q80 has better viewing angles but me I'm always on a couch directly in front of the TV so viewing angles aren't that important. I would never really be watching the TV off angle.
I just got this tv in Greentoe and paid 3297. It's an amazing tv.
A few questions:
1. How long ago did you get that price from Greentoe?
2. Do you recall what reseller the deal went through?
3. How have you liked the TV so far?

I ordered it last week. Got the tv yesterday. Greentoes rules don't allow me to reveal the seller. It was an authorized dealer.
Everything went very smooth. I was kinda weary spending that kinda money but so far everything has been great.
Tv is ridiculous. 82 inches is so huge. It makes me feel like I'm at the movies.

Thanks for the help. I have been eyeing this one up as well. This is a great price, but I am wary as to the warranty process if there is an issue. I believe Greentoe uses authorized resellers so there should not be an issue with a warranty claim, correct?

Correct. That's exactly why I went with Greentoe. As far as Samsung sees it, it looks like you went to ex Best Buy or something other authorized dealer and bought the tv. Full warranty.
It is important to keep in mind what you are replacing. So before thinking reflection is a huge problem, think again and see if you can live with litle bit of reflections. I am looking to buy 75" either q70r or q80r. I hesitated during Black Friday when q80r was $2400 ... Now it went back to $3000.
I do not mind q70r, but will not pay extra $1000 for just better angle viewing and reflections... Hoping to see $2400 price tag on it soon, as that is as high I will go with it.
Was debating between this and Sony 85 950g... ended up ordering the 950 because of better picture detail and x1 ultimate... the q80r is a phenomenal tv nevertheless
No, but this can cause issues for future slickdealers.
We slickdealers have been doing quite well over the years without the help of Green toe.
The authorized dealers agree to one thing. The minimum advertised price (MAP). They never agreed to sell only at, or above, the MAP.
My guess is there's a bunch of Shills out there pumping up greentoe.
This whole idea that green toe is going to find out that some anonymous person on Slickdeals who mentions the authorized dealer, somehow greentoe is going to trace that name back to a paying customer? That is so silly that I cannot even wrap my head around it.
the other scenario is too many people find out about who the anonymous deal is are. Or maybe the manufacturers find out who is selling below the MAP. And somehow that causes green toe to cease existence? But even that sounds silly.
Like I said, we've been doing great without greentoe for years.
Unless there is a specific reason that you are aware of?

Haha.
What are they going to do, take the TV back? Fine you?
Something smells fishy with this Greentoe so-called confidentiality.
