    There are trade-offs. I'd hate to have to sit there and juggle recharging a bunch of these when I can swap batteries in just a couple of minutes. If I had to recharge them I bet I never would.

    I have a few of those also. Really bright, and IIRC, takes AA for longer life. The benefit to the Illuminator light is the hands-free proximity activation. No switch to flip.

    I picked up some, thanks OP, but curious if anyone has any smaller solutions for a small motion activated battery powered LED strip or something (can even be a different color) to mount in my entertainment "center" - to mount just over my Onkyo receiver, which unfortunately doesn't have backlit buttons. Drives me nuts trying to make out the labels. I think this will be total overkill, but can probably use it for something else.
