I think the reason it seems so inexplicable to some people is because datahoarders generally tend to have a fundamental lack of faith that, in the future, content will always remain... accessible. I wouldn't say this is so much a paranoid impulse as much as it is just basic observation skills; we're already struggling to keep content from 15 years ago available to the public.

It also seems the more ubiquitous on-demand services become, the more presumptuous people are about content availability. In reality, there really are some things you simply cannot find anymore, and the number of people willing to convert analog media into digital formats (for free) and then seed it indefinitely (for free) is low. And this is just talking about entertainment-based content. There is plenty of material that the federal government would be absolutely pleased as punch to have disappear into the ether.

The information war is real--we're just doing our part. Service guarantees citizenship. Would you like to know more?

Nice deal. Just purchased 4 from BB for $210. Taking them all back for a refund. $40 is $40.

Ahh...great idea. Currently in line for chat! Thanks for the reminder of what should have been obvious.

Edit: Ordered 2 more while I'm waiting in chat. Big Grin

Edit again: Saved ANOTHER $20 by going through Best Buy via Ebay for another $20 in eBay bucks! Wow...same price as the 12TB! Cancelling my BB.com orders.

OP, maybe update the post to the EBay product for those with another hour or so who can use eBay 10% CB?: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WD-Easys...4004558033

Does anybody know how returns for Google Express work? Do they deduct the return shipping from your refund or is it a free prepaid label?

Disregard, I can't read.
