Thanks OP, I like Plugable products and service though they're sometimes a little more expensive than the competition.

I'm seeing a 30% coupon on the 87-key version, also on the red keyboard. Didn't dig further as I'm on my phone.

Never heard of these "Outemu" switches. How reliable are they? I feel they won't compare to Cherry, but what about with Kailh?

Based on reviews of other mechanical keyboards they seem less reliable. If you want lower cost but high reliability kailh seems to be the best option. Look into the rosewill series I think the k85 has beem pretty cheap.

Don't non-erginomic keyboards like this one cause rsi problems for those that use it a lot, like for programming? I really want to get this, but it's hard to envision how this can be as comfortable as my ol' Microsoft 4000 (which has other problems like no backlighting, side-sticking space bar, now-fading keys, etc). just curious.

I can't speak to their keyboards but I do have the Plugable USB microscope and am more than happy with how that has held up and performed, athough the base stand is shit.

There's also the Rosewill Brown/Blue switched K85 that was posted for $39, but this seems like a good alternative for anyone who doesn't want to deal with RGB.

Had a keyboard with their brown switches. One went bad after 6 months. I like the way the feel though. Tempted to give the red switches a go.

Is it really too much to ask that someone make a keyboard in this design with modern switches and some backlighting? Maybe the market isn't there, but how would they know? No one's making them for us to buy.

Well, Rosewill do have a brand-wide sale on Newegg...
