Also color toner cartridges cost a fortune and I believe canon printers are such that you cannot print with them empty or at least without some annoying error pop up every time you want to print.
Also if you only print a couple pages a month laser is the way to go. Don't waste your money on ink jets as the ink has a limited shelf life as soon as you open the cartridge.
