I guess it depends on your definition of significant. The wire grids that make up the shelf have fewer wires than before so they sag more. But the frame and everything else is unchanged. If you're putting small heavy things on these you should be adding plywood anyways, in which case this change doesn't really matter. If you're just putting everything in storage bins it also won't matter. With the trade war, this might be the lowest price we see for a while, and I don't think there's anything better at this price point.
Going to Lowes to see if they have these on display. Based on the reviews the "newer" version is not as robust as the old one. Looks like they made significant changes to the design of the shelves and they now "sag" a bit. Something to watch out for.
No telling how much weight she will gain for next year. You might want to hold off for now.

Are these better than the heavy duty ones in Costco.

I don't know. Take a look at the reviews on Lowes and you'll see some pics of the differences.

Costco one (EDSAL) is just $130 with $30 off right now. I think they are just the same?

my Costco has a different brand, not EDSAL and was $119 (after $30 off), it was labled "Industrial Heavy Duty" or something like that

I have this exact one. It's pretty nice looking and feel very sturdy. It's comparable to the heavy duty ones sold at Costco.

These are great. Box is huge, probably need a pick-up to load into.

I have this item I bought 2 or 3 months ago. Easy to assemble. Super sturdy. Fits between 2 bays in the garage. Really like it. If I had room for another I would jump on it.

Bought one last year. I keep everything stored in bins on the racks so looks nice and organized. Can't comment on the possible design change, but the one I have is awesome , especially for this price
