I bought a box of these earlier this year because I'm lazy & absolutely hate hand-cleaning my crockpot.

4 out of the 6 bag liners failed, and I was left hand-washing it anyway.

Maybe I just got a bad batch? I can't say I'm eager to waste money on them again.

What is a phalate? Whether chemicals are leeching would depend on the type of plastic. Polyethylene, which is what these are made out of, contain no phthalates.

I never found our slow cooker that difficult to clean out. I guess this would be good for using for a really cheesy recipe

People cook food in plastic on purpose? My slow cooker gets to boiling temperature so that's releasing a lot of phalates and other potentially harmful plastic compounds into your food for an extended perioid of time

Can certainly see some benefit. Especially with greasy stuff, you can just pull the whole thing out rather than find a container to dump the grease, then paper towels to wipe down, then wash.

Also on some older crock pots, they don't have removable Crocks

Exactly why I've been buying them since they first came out. Works great with meals that seem to generate grease such as some ribs, and if I use any kind of BBQ type sauce, it seems to bake a nice ring around the top that requires elbow grease - I don't like the crock hanging out soaking, I want it gone when I'm done cooking.

Sometimes there's no reasonable alternative to using plastic like with coffee makers but slow cooking food in plastic for hours just to avoid having to clean out the pot is just pure laziness and harmful for the environment with all the waste created
