Amazon has the Edwin Jagger Double Edge Safety Razor model # DE89LBLAMZ for 17.00. Amazon rating is 4 1/2 stars on 4842 reviews
This is the lowest price ever according to 3camels.The two-part DE razor head is compatible with all standard Double Edge Safety Razor Blades and includes a FREE 5 blade pack of blades. Chrome handle with precise lined patterning for improved wet grip, and a low cost blade replacement. In the reviews many women seem to like this razor also.

Shipping is free with prime. Another option is to pair it with the 100 count of Astra platinum razor blades that were posted on Slick Deals (very good blades) which Amazon is currently selling for 7.74. You will also need a filler that is over .26 to get you over the 25.00 for free shipping. Happy New Year!!

0.76mm blade gap makes it moderately aggressive, based on what I have. A common adjustable razor, the Rockwell 6S, has 6 gaps and the most aggressive is 0.79. The mildest gap is 0.20.

I can do a one-pass shave with this razor, so it certainly doesn't fit the profile of "mild" which would imply a 2- or 3-pass shave.
Okay, then just use the fact that it works better.
This razer was a life changing switch from Gillette. fark that company. The shave is 10x better with these, blades are super cheap. Think... pennies. They also shave closer. This handle also lasts forever. Paid $31 back in 2015 and never looked back.

I also have a Merkur Slant, super aggressive, u super close shave.

I used the short ebony as my daily for about 6 months, was great but one day I think I over tightened it and it hasn't shaved the same since. (I am speculating at the reason as it lookd slightly that way, but I don't remember if it had always looked that way).
I switched to a long handle merkur about 2 years ago and it's solid, I prefer the longer handle and added weight on the head and blade when gliding that comes with that. Short handle has better maneuverability, but I don't even notice it anymore. I thought I'd probably keep the short handle for travel but tbh the size difference is negligible.
Price wise, this is EXCELLENT, and I'd highly recommend this to newbies and vets alike.

Nice razor at least for the casual user. I use mine a few times a week. Had it for around two years, I don't know if it improved much besides clogging (which is sort of major for me) but you can have the start of a bad looking beard and this thing just plows through it.

Blades are dirt cheap too, even the good ones.

I've been using the ebony version of this razor for probably 8 years. Still looks like new. No flaking of the black color or chrome. No pitting of the chrome. Cleans right up flawless.

After trying probably 6-7 different blades I settled on Feather. Hot knife through butter on a full week of growth. I've never been susceptible to shaving issues though. Never had issues with razor burn, bumps, ingrown, etc my entire life. I could probably shave with a machete without many problems.

Paid like $35 for it back then.

Worth it if I currently use a Gillete from 1932? I love my current but am wondering if this would be better.

As someone who has used the non-lined (same thing really) version of this exclusively for maybe 6 or 7 years now, I'm tempted. I mean, there's nothing wrong with the one I've got, but at this price, hey, back up maybe?

But I probably won't bite because I can't see me losing mine and it just isn't gonna break. An r41 head (more aggressive) I'd buy though.
