Also the nighthawk has a more advanced feature set and lets you set advance QoS. So if you need more control over your network that would be the nighthawk.
So nighthawk slightly faster speeds, stronger wifi but shorter coverage, more advance features. I would go with the Nighthawk.

you probably got a nicer/newer version that looks identical. I got this on Amazon a month ago for $65
from a review:
As of September 2018 NETGEAR has revised this model and made it nearly impossible to install 3rd party firmware like Tomato and DD-WRT. Since I want to flash my router with Tomato to enable enhanced settings, and more importantly activating the built-in adblocker, this router is completely useless to me. Unless you want to open up the router, and connect a USB-TTL cable to the Serial Console on the motherboard to flash the router with 3rd party Firmware, I would stay far away from it.

I disagree. I bought two of them within the last 6 weeks. These are v3 and DD-WRT is very simple to install. This is one heck of a deal at this price
Not if you bought one already. Just stick with that.
we probabbly won't do a mesh set up - should i return the Linkseys Mesh Wifi and get this one instead for 40 bucks less?
