Clip the $10 coupon to bring final price to $57.99. Cheaper than previous FP deals by a few bucks

I disagree. I bought two of them within the last 6 weeks. These are v3 and DD-WRT is very simple to install. This is one heck of a deal at this price
Nighthawk has a faster process if I recall correctly. The A7 has 6 total antennas 3 external 3 internal, compared to the Nighthawks 3 external but the nighthawk has beam forming and it works extremely well. So while the A7 will provide more coverage bubble the Nighthawk will provide a stronger signal to individual devices.

Also the nighthawk has a more advanced feature set and lets you set advance QoS. So if you need more control over your network that would be the nighthawk.

So nighthawk slightly faster speeds, stronger wifi but shorter coverage, more advance features. I would go with the Nighthawk.

Great router for anyone needing a non mesh solution for a smaller to medium sized home/town home/apt.

Felt like I bought this router for about 150 dollars couple months ago at best buy....

you probably got a nicer/newer version that looks identical. I got this on Amazon a month ago for $65

This is likely a later revision. Be aware that third party firmwares like DD WRT will not work with anything beyond the original model of the r6700.
from a review:
As of September 2018 NETGEAR has revised this model and made it nearly impossible to install 3rd party firmware like Tomato and DD-WRT. Since I want to flash my router with Tomato to enable enhanced settings, and more importantly activating the built-in adblocker, this router is completely useless to me. Unless you want to open up the router, and connect a USB-TTL cable to the Serial Console on the motherboard to flash the router with 3rd party Firmware, I would stay far away from it.

Isn't it old technology? What makes this so good when there are other routers with better processors and wifi 6 for basically the same price? honestly curious, I need a router that can handle at least 600 mbps
I bought this Router like 2 years ago and is rocking it's 400mbps internet speed through the entire house either on wifi or wired. and that includes the holidays where I have extended family over clogging up the network with 10 phones. You cannot get better for this price, it's been extremely stable for me and the features are great.

Isn't this the mediatek processor version or something? I saw in the Amazon reviews they changed the internals which made it much worse. Is this better than a linksys ea8500 for range?
