    They could have made it a little better looking. That would have been a cheap boom box back in the day. Look up a Magnavox D8443 or D8444. That's what a real boom box looked like in the 80s. None really sounded great until Panasonic started making them later on. The 8 "D" batteries made the largest ones extremely heavy. This one has a lot of features. The working cassette deck is a plus.

    They did a good job. Brings back memories, I had a Sony just like it back in the day that cost more than that in 1980's dollars while they were still made in Japan instead of mass produced by the boat load in China.

    Well, neither of those companies really exist anymore. Toshiba has exited the home electronics business and Sanyo has been absorbed by Panasonic, which has also seemed to have stopped producing home electronics. The more you know.
