Traditionally, a futon is actually a Japanese style mattress that can be aired, folded and stored away in the closet. The frame that turns into a couch is not the futon—the bedding is.

In the west, however we ended up calling these sofa beds "futons", despite being pretty different.

Kinda like how the Hibachi chain restaurants are actually just Teppanyaki restaurants.

Not sure how or why we re-appropriated these things lol.

So there's no more fultons... they're multifunction sofas? Ok.

The OCD in me would be more concerned that the rear legs are straight while the front are slanted.

Looks nice; decent reviews, but fyi the 66" length is shorter than a standard 75" twin size mattress.

Based on the length, this only seems to work for a bed if you're 5.5 feet tall or smaller.

You read it incorrect. This is for kids age 12 and under

Grabbed this for the new house in hope that my 13yr old would like it as a bed...he loves it, however, he is about 6ft so it is too short for him...the fabric feels nice (though it is still very new).

The legs are fine to sleep or sit on but I'd warn anyone against any other strenuous activities...
