Legion Y540 also comes with a 56 WHr Battery and the point is that no gaming Laptop lasts much while gaming in battery, maximum 2 hours. Also, they perform literally non-playable while running on battery power. Even if you put a 70 Whr battery in this and play games, it would not be lasting more than two hours in battery for playing games.

And another thing, it has Nvidia Optimus. So, when not gaming, it will switch to the integrated graphics and as per various reviews, a 51 WHr battery can go more than 3 hours with moderate usage, streaming videos etc.

if you are buying a gaming laptop for battery life, you are not well informed of the intended purpose of such machinery.

Good price for specs.
But 51wh battery with a 2070?
Enjoy that hour and a half battery life.
That's plenty of time for what I use it for

Some of us last longer.

Figured that most of the people that buy these travel a bit so they need something portable when they get to their next stop.

It does not have TB3 and it does not have G-Sync. Don't know it will work with external G-Sync display.

Can I upgrade the battery to get better performance in gaming even when plugged in?

The power being delivered to the gpu and cpu is like 14 watts or so it's definitely bottlenecked by the power and heat constraints
