Direct Tools Outlet has the Certified Pre-owned RYOBI ONE+ 18 Volt Lithium Ion Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit on sale for $57.99. Seems like a great price if your local store doesn't have the new kit on clearance for $99 or $74.
will not be buying this from direct tools outlet due to getting screwed over numerous times, but i would like to see if i can get a question i have answered... has anyone had this as well as teh "stubby" 18v non brushless version? is this a huge step up in quality? the stubby version i have is barrrely powerful enough for the single string head. does this brushless one really have that much power that it can spin the dual strings? thanks!!!!

I used the plastic one for couple of years and bought the trimmer in the deal just before BF. The old one is way weaker compared the one I got recently. It took around 1 month to arrive and I didn't have a chance to fully test it yet.
It arrived with 4Ah battery that did not have any sign of use, but I can't say if it was new or not.
It was disappointing to see one of electrical contacts on wall-wart type plug that attaches to charger bent at 45 degree, but I have other Ryobi charges in the house.

both of which seem to be about the same power. im amazed that they were willing to get that much more power out of an 18v model. guess brushless really is the way to go. ill have to watch the local home depot for deals. definitely not getting taken by direct tools factory outlet again.
just wanted to share my experience with this product.
I bought one "refurbished" from Home Depot last year at a much higher price point than this. Be aware, if you hear and feel an excessive rattle sound, and/or excessive vibration, you'll probably be very unhappy with it. I eventually returned mine and spent more for brand new and the difference was immediate.
Only buy the factory blemished stuff. The CPO always comes in used and broken.
Not my experience at all. I've received 16 orders in the last 3 months and the worst I've received had a few scuff marks. Other than the slow shipping after Black Friday I've been very satisfied with Direct Tools. BTW I placed 2 orders on January 1st and 2nd and FedEx tracking show them arriving on the 6th & 7th.
