Guides are stability shoes for overpronaters. Rides are the neutral strider's equivalent to the Guide. If you are not sure what type of shoe would be best for you and you plan on running a decent amount, it's advisable to head into a running shop (or even a big box store like Dick's) to get a gait analysis. They're free and only take a few minutes.
Alternatively, you can check your current shoes to see what kind of wear pattern they may be showing. Uneven wear on the outside of the sole (small toe side) would indicate supination and the need for a neutral or cushion shoe like the Rides (or Triumphs). Conversely, overpronation would show as wear on the inside part of the sole (big toe/arch side) suggesting the Guides would be better suited for your style. A neutral gait would have most of the wear on the ball of the foot (either shoe could work but I'd go with the Rides in this case). You can Google shoe wear patterns and gait to find out more. Hope that helps.

I just ordered these at similar price from EMS[ems.com]. They are on sale for $50 + another 20% off with code OUTLET. However, they charge shipping so the coupon code basically just offset the shipping cost. They were $47.97 all-in (no tax in MA).
They also have the red/grey color but limited sizes in both colors.

Wow, might have to return the EMS shoes and grab these for the extra $10 bucks. Wish I liked black running shoes but could probably live with them at this price.

Code works! Thanks! Brings the total down to $40.84 after tax. Shipping was free for me. Nice to find such a good deal while there are still some common sizes in stock.
