These things are great. There are a bunch of clones sold under different names that are the same thing. I bought one under the "Autown" name, and it can start my old car on its own with the battery completely disconnected.

It's not something you can just leave in your car and forget about it though. It needs to be recharged every couple of months, and it won't perform as well if it's cold.

How'd you get your car started with the battery disconnected? Does it have an override mode?

Idk if the "smart" clamps are checking for resistance or capacitance or what, but it somehow just knows when it's connected to a car and it kind of auto "overrides". It didn't work at first when I clipped it to the aluminum clamps, but when I got a better connection it worked perfectly.

Be sure watch the Project Farm comparison video. He addresses this issue with a freezer test. These warm up with each attempt and can start cars after just a few attempts.

While that's true, temperature extremes in general will cause the batteries to degrade faster.

Coupon still valid after 5 days, guess it's based on sales rather than time.

As for the temps: the cold (around freezing) degrades battery performance but is great for storage. Still charge the battery at room temp, though.
It's the heat that makes batteries wear out (or explode). Thinking of taking the jump starter out of the car during the summer.

Thanks i ended up getting the top vision, exterior looks more rugged, digital screen is more accurate, cables look thicker, better case, included cigarette lighter charger, and I'm thinking more power holds charge longer over time when not used.

There sure has been a lot of deals on these lithium charger packs lately, and I haven't seen anyone mention the capacitor style starter units instead of these battery pack units.

May I ask why people are buying these battery pack models over the capacitor style? I'm guessing price but what money you save is translated into your time maintaining a battery pack for the life of the pack.

Price is always a big deal here, many more folks bought the inferior Gooloo just because it $13.40 cheaper

Basically, the super-capacitor is expensive, slow and ineffective on drained batteries.

But this does not have "boost" or override button. Nor such function is mentioned in the manual. And it is made in China, seems a lot of people care if it is made in China nowadays

From what I read top vision doesn't need a boost function since it is such a high capacity. Those with boost are lower capacity and need that feature.
