I had a Schlage smart connect die on me last week. One call to customer service and they sent me a new one for free. They didn't even want the old one shipped back.

Fantastic locks. Fantastic warranty.
I've owned both Kwikset and Schlage connected locks, do yourself a favor and spend the money for the Schlage. Also if you want a rechargable battery option there are now LiON cells in AA format that are regulated down to a constant 1.5v that these locks need. Regular NIMH at 1.2ish volts don't cut it. I'm using these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 I'd wait for a sale, I paid a lot less than that (like 12 bucks) for them though.
I have three Schlage Connect locks in my home (among many other kinds of smart devices). Schlage, in my opinion, is one of the best among those. Other than the rock solid performance that these locks have displayed over the last ten months, the customer support that I received, when I was setting these up initially, was exemplary.

I sound like a paid endorser. I am not. I only wish there were more companies like them.

Perfect timing here, too. I have this set on my back door, and love it. I am having the front door refinished literally as I type this, and was going to buy this set for that door as well.

Same, my first one was refurbished, and make some weird clicking sounds. The person on the support line was great, and I had a new lock 2 days later. It's worked perfectly for about a year.

Do not recommend the Kwikset. I have it at home and you have to unscrew and remove the entire back plate to reprogram new codes. The black plastic part doesn't open or slide up. Stupid design.

Not smart or connected.

Has anyone used the Encode version? I like the idea of not having to use a hub.

Can I lock unlock remotely, do I need a wireless hub or something to activate this outside of wifi? Thanks

I have Google Home. I don't have any Amazon Smart devices or Echo or Ring. I don't have any Smartthings hub or any other hub.

Whivh one will be better for me to use with Google Home if I want to remotely monitor or, at a minimum, use the Home app to Lock the door?

I have had a Schlage Connect for close to a year now and love it. No problems with z-wave operation either.
I want to put another keypad on my door to the garage but really only want the deadbolt component, not the handle underneath. I'd hope that would save me some money but I never see those on sale. Has anybody come across good deals for Schlage deadbolt only (with z-wave or wifi)?
