I've been playing Unravel 2 with my wife (not a gamer) and it's a lot of fun. It's a puzzle platformer that's not incredibly difficult but has some cool mechanics that make you think about how to get past obstacles. Multiplayer is what it was built around, but I've played it singleplayer a few times and it's still fun. Worth $5 in my opinion.

My only gripes are that player control feels 'mushy' sometimes (compared to playing Celeste, Hollow Knight, and Axiom Verge), and the 3D graphics sometimes make it difficult to figure out what objects are able to be interacted with.

You use the stick to move the character and buttons to jump, throw your yarn, and latch onto pieces of the environment. It's a fun game and interesting dynamic to try to figure out how to use up the character's yarn to solve environmental puzzles to progress. Definitely worth 5 bucks.

I'm curious about Unravel 2.. has anyone here played it? On the surface it looks looks interesting. But I can't tell if it's like an Android game where you point to move the character.. there are some mobile games that are like this. Or is it like Yoshi's Crafted World? I've watched a couple videos on YouTube, but still can't really tell what this game is like.. and is it even fun? I'd be playing alone since I mainly just use my Switch on travel by myself.

Just throwing another vote pro-Unravel. Played it with gf (not a gamer) and it's a nice casual accessible puzzle-platformer. As previously mentioned, movement is mushy, but that's ok for the type of game it is. Worth

IMO this game is definitely worth $5. Honestly, its totally worth the original $20. The tone is so good and the backgrounds and light effects are amazing. It does a great job of projecting a kind of innocence of the yarn people trying to navigate through a dirty world. They do a really good job of slowly building up the mechanics by giving progressively more difficult puzzles and obstacles. I really do love this game.

Everything about this game is great except for the story. There are no words, and it's very confusing. Maybe it makes more sense if you played the original, I don't know. It seems like you are some kind of force of good trying to stop abuse.

I have not played it single-player, but multiplayer it is really fun, it's more of a puzzler than it is a platformer. The main game is kind of short, like 7 chapters, each taking 20-30 minutes. There are a lot of solo stages to do afterwards. If you've ever played trine, it plays like you are the archer, a lot of the mechanics are similar. The only difference being that there are two of you now.

A lot of spots can be skipped for the second player, if they can't make the jumps, they can just climb up player 1's rope. So you shouldn't have too much difficulties playing with kids.

I've never played my Switch with another person. Can two people play with one controller? Each person gets the red or the blue side of the controller? Or do you need two full Switch controllers for two people playing any game?

Yes, you can split up your controller into two.

Found this deal on a subreddit right before finding here, and purchased with Nintendo points that were soon to expire. Seems to be well rated, so giving it a try with the kids.
