I upgraded earlier this year from a basic brother printer that took the 660tn toners. i love the features as i can do double sided print and scan to pdf or other files directly to my google drive or one note or whatever service you use

The original toner was terrible and the $14 3rd party toner i got from amazon has lasted so much longer

For $75 this is a great deal

Keep in mind most printers come with a trial size starting toner. They're made to run out quick on purpose.

So much of this printer being advertised, I just received mine from the Google shipping event and now I feel like I need to buy another just in case lol

Kansas tax makes it $81.25 which is about $7 cheaper than what I ordered but I don't have a Staples nearby

tempted to try it, but I doubt they will go along with it for me...

edit: wow. that was sure worth my time after all. he credited even more back as a courtesy. Not sure why because I didn't complain and why should I receive a courtesy just because they had a better coupon today? I hope they credit it to my card. I had used a $50 gift card plus credit card. I sure don't want credit via gift card, although that's better than nothing.

edit 2: sweet. it already emailed me saying it goes back to my CC, not the GC. Figured as much, but you never know with some companies.

Is this a good buy? Is toner cheap? Can I get some generic Ebay one? What about filler paper? What do you guys use? I'm looking for a printer mainly for b&w printing, one side paper with wifi to print directly from my phone!

some people say third party is fine. also even a model below this one is considered a top printer, so it seems like a good buy.

I will pass need a color printer
I thought about that, BUT I actually have not needed color in literally 10 years. lol. So I thought maybe this is good enough and if I randomly do need color some day I can get cartridges for my inkjet for a one time thing I guess.

Main thing I don't like is it's sure big... Sucks that it will take up more of my desk than my inkjet has.

Got the sister model, Brother HL-L2390DW, last month for the in-laws. Easy to setup, completely doable via wifi, which is great since it doesn't include a USB cable. Brother has an app you can use to send print jobs and scan stuff to your phone. Although I didn't have any issues with their app, the documentation also referred to a 3rd-party app (can't remember the name of it). And yes, the included toner won't last long. It even says "starter toner" on the box.

Knockoff toner on Amazon is fairly inexpensive. I have this printer and it is great. Excellent value proposition for a b&w laser printer, scanner, copier.
