Is there a way to remotely control the volume or would I have to stand up and walk to the thing every time I wanted to adjust volume if I wanted to use this as a TV speaker?

2 possibilities, if your TV has a headphone output, or if it has variable level RCA output jacks.
If only there were some sort of expert, a guru even, that could guide us to deals on Bluetooth speakers.
Funny btspkrguru would post a speaker like this.......guess he's on the take from slickdeals payroll now. Guess we can expect more garbage speakers posts like this posted that have no business being posted in the first place. . It's the same price from 4 sellers on eBay, all who sell Asian junk electronics. For shame!

I'm not on the take with anyone. It's actually a decent speaker for $20. It has dynamic bass adjustment so it sounds full at low levels, seems to last a long time on a charge. Everything I post I have personally purchased with my own $$$ and tested before recommending. But nice try trolling.

Right, I'm a troll and you're posting a powerfly brand speaker that costs $20, 🤣. You're right, I'm biased towards products that aren't bound for the dumpster and have real reviews. Good luck coercing sder's to spend their hard earned money on shit like this.

This speaker is well above average sound for the price. Its also actually is well put together... I've tested enough Bluetooth speakers to know the difference. I've honestly had as many DOA and duds from reputable brands as the cheap Chinese junk. I've learned how to weed the junk from the hidden gems.
BTW.... For the average consumer that doesn't know how to use a soldering iron almost every device they buy with a li-ion battery is destined for the dumpster after a few years. Be it a $300 or a $10 speaker or other device.
