Can this receiver play a different digital signal on zone 1 and 2 at the same time?

I'm looking for a reciever and don't know much about them. Would this be sufficient for the klipsch rp280f? If not, how would I figure out which receiver would work best with those? I am planning on buying those floor speakers and the r41m as the rears. Eventually I will add a centre speaker.

Upgraded to this from a Yamaha HTR-5280 that lasted me 20 years ---- my old receiver was still running strong, just didn't have HDMI switching. Picked this up a month ago for $379.99+tax and worth every penny. Cheers!
Yep, for me it was 2-out HDMI.
Old Yamaha still works great, Bluetooth was with a dongle and it was single HDMI out.

How is this compare to Denon AVR-S750H 7.2-Channel 4K AV Receiver? Is Yamaha also 4K?

This receiver is more than sufficient for use with basically any Klipsch speaker you can think of. The RP-280F are extremely efficient 8 Ohm speakers and therefore very easy to drive, even with something with much less power than the Yamaha in the OP.

A "beast" how? If by size/weight I'd figure the Onkyo would be heavier and probably larger. If you mean amp-wise the Onkyo has higher rated power, only a few watts but Onkyos generally have pretty muscular amp sections for their rated power. Or do you just mean features?

Any differences at all vs the aventage?
Supposedly, the internals are more high end on the aventage line. I own the RX-A780 AVENTAGE only because I got it for the same price as this unit at frys when it went on sale.

I was only planning to update my amp because my Onkyo SR705 only ran "satisfactory" with PCM. Bitstreaming would've caused chirps and crap w/ any Dolby codec. Onkyo admitted to this years ago. The dolby standard evolved and Onkyo SR705 did not evolve with it. They didn't bother to support it after newer models came about.

The yamaha exceeded my expectations. The sound was clean. My old school Klipsch speakers can handle 6 ohms but 8 ohms will be more than plenty. HDMI cec played well w/ my other components.

I wouldnt worry about the numbers. It's all marketing fluff.

That's all i got to say about that.

RXV685_RXA780_RXA880_FIRMWARE_V1.72

That's the file name on the website for the firmware update file. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it shares components from some V and A.

I picked this up to replace my Denon avr-1712 I've had for several years.
Mainly bought it to handle 4k and all the newer DECs, had no other issues with my Denon so was hesitant if I would be happy with sound. Big improvement! I'm very happy so far. Not a diss on Denon since it was an older model, just wanted to share my experience for others. Thanks to op!

Yamaha and the Denon are both 4k HDR and Dolby Vision compatible.

the 750h during a coupon period is cheaper than the Yamaha by quite a bit.

https://slickdeals.net/f/13706192-denon-avr-s750h-7-2-channel-4k-av-receiver-for-339-99-for-costco-members-339-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch

I opted for the Yamaha because I read the Denon runs hot and didnt want to turn my cabinet into a easy bake oven. If i had open storage, i would've went w/ the Denon and returned if it ever went south.
