Decent TV for the price. Quite a few bad reviews on sound quality (recommend sound bar) but its nice and bright with clear colors. Good for a bright room. Blacks get a bit washed out in the dark. It was this price on BF.
Edge lit IPS screen, good for bright rooms showing TV/sports/video games. Not so great for dark rooms and movies. If you want to hang a TV in a bright living room, this is a good choice.
I think 900F or better for me. If you're OK with edge lit IPS, you can basically pick any brand and likely for cheaper.
Wow, just wow. The Sony Absolutely blows the TCL away. PQ is not even on the same planet. What are they smoking?
You might want to read your own reviews. The TCL is rated better than the Sony in many of the categories you posted including Movies, HDR Movies and Gaming. Pretty much the main reason people buy a TV.

This is just if you care about contrast ratio. If you are viewing in a light room and value viewing angles (which alot of people will appreciate) then the sony is fine. Also, I suspect the sony will have better color accuracy out of the box. The TCL is a better option if you are using in a really dark rroom and want full on theater performance though.
Bought this last night and it's going back when it stops raining. Interface lags a little, so did content from the apps. I found one dead pixel. The dead pixel isn't a deal breaker, but even with an Apple TV, content just doesn't look good. Watching football was awful. I don't expect these things from a TV at this price.
The 900F is head & shoulders better
The only X850G worth considering is the 85-inch panel. It has a completely different panel.
All other models have a crappy IPS panel very similar to the one found on the disposable X800G.

I really wish Costco would pick up the higher end Sony tvs!
