All other sizes are IPS.
Depends on what your needs are, if a VA or IPS panel is a better choice.

VA stands for vertical alignment and is a a type of LED (a form of LCD) panel display technology. VA panels are characterized as having the best contrast and image depth among the other main types of display panels, TN (twisted nematic)and IPS (in-plane switching), but also the longest response times. As such, you may want to think twice before choosing a VA panel as a gaming monitor. However, we regard contrast as the most important factor in a monitor's image quality. So if you're looking for the best possible picture, we highly recommend a VA display.

Late last year when the Gov stuck their hand and took the last cookie in the jar. If I'm not mistaken B&H added a point system if you signed up for their CC. You get all the tax you pay back in points or something of that nature.

If you are a gamer, do your homework and don't immediately dismiss VA.
The only reviews I've seen for this Sony are for the IPS variant - hard to gauge.
The Sony X850G is a good 4k TV with an IPS panel. It delivers decent overall picture quality, but has a very low contrast ratio and bad black uniformity, so it isn't a great choice for a dark room. This TV has great peak brightness and excellent reflection handling, so it has no trouble overcoming glare in a bright room, and the image remains accurate when viewed at an angle. It's a great TV for gaming, as it has outstanding low input lag, the lowest of any recent Sony TV, and an excellent response time.
Note: The 85" model has a VA panel, and likely looks much better in a dark room, but has worse viewing angles.
Our Verdict
7.8 Mixed Usage
Overall, the X850G is a good TV for most uses. It's best suited for a bright room, a wide seating area, or for watching sports or TV shows with a group of friends. It has great gaming performance, with low input lag and a fast response time. Unfortunately, it isn't great for watching movies or HDR content in a dark room.
