My kids use this exact same phone to play games, take pics, music, Google Voice/video call grandma, offline maps GPS, watch downloaded Netflix, stream from Kodi/Plex, offline video library on VLC, etc. all offline, or on WiFi, or my cell hot-spot, or xfinitywifi hot-spots, all without any cell service. This is great when traveling.
If you don't have kids, you need to have some before you can buy this phone.
Only way to unlock is to get service for a year, no other way on Tracfone. Online order with free pickup.

For those who want a phone service, be aware of the fact that this phone is locked on Straight Talk, and although that's a service provided by Tracfone, the plans differ, and are not transferable. Straight Talk plans are geared toward users who want unlimited usage, whereas Tracfone is best (cheapest) for limited usage.
A quick Google search, and here you go: https://www.devicespeci
The supported mobile network techonologies, and Android version, are different.

Sounds like your trying to sell the idea of having kids more then buying this phone.
CPU: 1.4GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 (like most other budget androids)
Supports MicroSD
Also going to assume by 2/16 GB RAM you mean 2GB RAM and 16GB storage?
OP says it's locked to trakphone, so unless you are currently using trakphone you would have to activate it and wait a year before they unlock it for you.
