At $75, the Gen 4 is fine, as long as you keep your expectations in tow. The main difference between Gen 4/Sport and Gen 5 is the 1gb of RAM vs 512mb. I've owned both generations, and the difference is night and day. With 4/Sport, you will experience significant lag, simple tasks will take way too long, apps are sluggish to open. The extra RAM with Gen 5 solves all of those performance issues, and it's a smooth pleasant experience. The performance improvement is so shocking that you wonder why Google hasn't forced all its OEMs to include 1gb RAM as the base spec.
Anyway, as I said at $75 it's fine, it'll show the time and display notifications, mostly without issues. Just keep in mind it's going to be a frustrating user experience at times. If you were on the fence, pass on Gen 4, and wait for a Gen5 sale.
