32% off Heartguard of Nex-guard for new Chewy Pharmacy customers

Get 15% off when you add 2 or more Heartguard or Nex-guard products to cart. Limit 5 per customer. Must enter code HGNG6 at checkout.

20% off New Pharmacy customers with code RX20.

I get the biggest size (51-100lbs) so YMMV on final price.

Go to tractor supply. Buy Ivermectin 1%. Give .1 ml per 10 lbs of weight. Use a syringe to get the dose then suck up some water and shake. Shoot it in to The back of your dogs mouth. If you want Pyrantel, the other ingredient in Heartguard, a dewormer, I use the equine apple flavored paste. The formula for that is .015 x (weight in lbs). Shoot it into a syringe without a needle To measure. The ivermectin is about 25 bucks and the pyrantel is about $7. That bottle of ivermectin will probably last two years. The pyrantel Only needs to be dosed every six weeks.

I have a Labrador and a golden retriever and spend maybe $35 every couple years total for the heartworm protection.

If your dog has white paws it might have a genetic predisposition to be sensitive to ivermectin.

I know most people won't listen to this but I always tell everybody at the dog park anyway. This stuff is so expensive for what it is. Ivermectin is very safe in way higher doses than what is in one of these little chews. If you have any questions feel free to ask

*Also if you're here you probably really care about your dog so I might as well tell you about a miracle drug that has worked for my golden retriever. She is 12 or 13, I don't know for sure because I didn't get her until she was an adult. Her back hips were so bad with arthritis several years years ago I didn't think she would last much longer. The wonder drug for that is called adequan. It actually seems to rebuild and renew the synovial fluid in a dogs arthritic joints. The only problem is it is $125 per 5 milliliters LOL. What many vets won't tell you is there is an identical drug called Ichon That can't be marketed for the same purpose because it doesn't have the patent that adequan has in the U.S. it is $25 per 5ml . I have been giving her this intramuscular injection myself for almost 2 years now and it really has been a miracle drug for her. I used to have to lift her into the car and now she jumps in. So if your dog has bad hips make your vet write you a prescription for ichon off script. If they say no get a new vet
Generic Tri-Heart Plus is cheaper for 12 months at Costco. $47.20 for large dogs. Why pay $20 more for same active ingredient?

Just to add some clarity.
Add 2 packs to the cart and then apply the HGNG6 and RX20 codes. Can also apply the Sub&Save option for 5% more. I was able to get year of 51+ lb for $64 before tax. Thanks OP

Chewy is the only company I've ever had keep track of addresses used for shipping to prevent multiple accounts. Even using my wife's name and a different credit card didn't work. They called and said they had to take the discounts off. Worth trying, but don't count on that working indefinitely.

Heartworms are evolving immunity, so If your dog or cat is close to the upper weight, go to the next larger size.

Consider buying twice the required size for heartworms and fleas and cut it in half to get two doses for the price of one. Twice the dose is not twice the price.
