$25 restocking fee on returns??

Dude. Sometimes shoes just don't fit right. Even if they're 'your size'. I was going to order something brown and something black. But I'm not going to risk finding out they're too loose in the heel or too tight in the toe. Especially on clearance items where they often are the ones that don't sell well BECAUSE they fit funky. The possibility of spending $50 to NOT have new shoes is the opposite of slick. Hard pass.

Be careful here - not sure what their exchange/ return policy looks like. Each of the past 3 times I've bought Allen Edmonds (all within the past 2 years) I've had to exchange like 3 or 4 times to get an acceptable pair. Their quality control is non-existent, and their Firsts tend to be closer to Seconds or even Thirds these days.

This is the best sale I have seen in a long time but very hard to find any 10D's, though there are some. There are close to none on sale in the 108 last which is what fits me. I think I saw Carlisles in Oxblood. Hope that helps someone.

You are right. I got 3 pairs of AE's already tempting to get one more, but I'll hold off. Still can't believe they only send you 1 shoe bag per pairs of shoes now (all of mine are brand new).

What's the difference between something from the warehouse, factory second and regular?

I have no authority to answer the "warehouse" part of this with any sort of confidence, but, I think these are "firsts" and from what I can tell, they just called it a warehouse sale.

Factory Seconds [allenedmonds.com] normally have defects that do not affect the wear or life of the item, but also have a different return policy ($25 restocking fee for Factory Seconds [allenedmonds.com]).

Anecdotal, just like your reply. But just got a pair of park Ave firsts and they are excellent. Hitting them with some saphir Renovateur soon

Glad it worked out for you. /r/goodyearwelt is chalked full of reports similar to mine, so it may be anecdotal, but the evidence is quickly mounting.

Seems like some good prices but appears to be a lot of the less popular or classic color choices. I already have a walnut Fifth Ave and was looking to add to my collection a nice pair of black shoes, but I couldn't really find anything in this sale worth getting.

Agree, the last time I bought a pair, I had to return it twice. On the third try I gave up and returned them. The color was different on all three pairs and not matching to the photos/description.

Just got a position in the office (after being a floor/field nurse for 12 years). Now that I have to wear real clothes, I would like a few decent pairs of shoes. Is this a good place to start? Currently I'm working with a couple pairs of department store grade dress shoes that are worse than being on my feet for 13 hours in the hospital.
