Gore-tex paclite is a 2 layer system that is lightweight and meant for occasional/emergency use. So if the intent is to keep in your pack and pull out when it rains, that would probably be sufficient. Keep in mind that it won't hold up to abrasions as well as some more durable offerings both in the Gore-tex line and others.

I have three paclite jackets, and all have held up well. I prefer a soft shell with dwr when I mountain bike, as it breathes better and is less likely to have punctures on the trail. I also avoid riding in downpours as I'd be messing up the trails anyway...

The men's Kor preshell isn't available at the moment (the women's is), but I'd highly recommend it if it comes back. Super packable and makes a great travel jacket.
