I am going to repeat a post from a previous mention of this product: It's one of the very few Anker items I ever regretted buying because I didn't notice that it has a max combined output of only 18W on the USB ports which means you can't charge recent iOS devices at full speed. And the other very annoying thing is that you have to press that big button first before every charging procedure which is easily overlooked, and then you wake up to drained devices...
They're pretty similar just choose the form factor you like more. I like the square more.

I'm just waiting for a version priced this low with a USB-C port with 40W+ hopefully 60W+

Have this, it's a great travel extension cord. Keep it in my backpack for air travel and on the go uses.

That's pretty cool. Almost everything I use, especially when traveling, plugs into USB, but this form factor is nice.

Well, the newer version is a completely different shape, so it likely fits a different need.

I'm not familiar with load demands of newer devices but 18W even if shared among 3 USB ports seems adequate. What am I missing?

mine does not do that.. I have it plug in and it charges as I plug the phones in.. I mostly use this to power usb things and 1 iphone. I like the slimmer one they have.. actually preferred an usb c pd on this

I use the 3m command strips to mount this.. clean removal if needed

Love this thing. It's really convenient when you only have or want to take up one outlet (libraries, coffee shops, etc.).
