I bought one of these (slightly smaller size) for a hiking trip a few years ago and found it to be rather inconvenient. Having it hooked onto your packpack as your hiking adds a lot of weight - much more than you think. Especially when it's filled up with water. I unhooked it and tucked it away in one of the side pockets but it was still a pain in the ass having to remove the packpack just to grab the bottle.

If you're into hiking or outdoor activities, get a hydration backpack instead. You'll thank me later. On the other hand if you're buying this for use at the gym, office, or whatever, it's perfectly fine. Bonus points for being stainless steel.

Guy I watch on YouTube swears by these but he prefers the regular plastic ones, think he said the weight savings and extra capacity outweighed the insulation and after carrying around various metal double walled insulated bottles I might just go back to a plastic one also.

Got the 32 oz one of these before to replace my wide mouth nalgene for something more quick access while driving. Really like the magnet on the cap to keep it out of the way and having stainless and insulated is nice. It is a bit taller than a standard 32 oz nalgene though, i would assume the same for the 40.

Have had two of the 32oz for 6 months now. They are great! The lids can be a little tricky to keep clean compared to a plain flat lid, but only a small detail. Also, the wide mouth hydro flask lids for perfectly! You can pick and choose a different lid if you don't like the mag one.

"usually ships in 1-2 months" . Worth the wait if you don't NEED it right away.
