Pretty sure the scent is a side benefit where peppermint oils natural anti-microbial properties is the main reason for it's use.
Wow, 50 cents off. Worth buying even if you don't have a dog.
For entertainment. Nothing funnier than watching your dog try to smell his own ears.

Why in the world would any one want to put peppermint scent in their dogs ear?

I bought this last time it was on sale and I can't recommend it. My dog has floppy ears and I have to clean them once a week otherwise they stink. The sound of having all natural product sounds good, but it doesn't work well. My dogs ear stunk after 2 days. I typically will put a few drops, rub and wipe dry with a cloth.

You can try it since it's only $1 but just know it doesn't work well.

This stuff doesn't work, or at least it won't work long. At best, it will flush some debris out, but it will just come back within a day or two.

If your dog truly has smelly gunky ears, take them to the vet and have a tube of Bayer Claro squeezed into each ear and then leave their ears alone for a month. A month later, their ears will be pristine. If you have a dog that suffers from gunky ears, ask your vet about Claro. The stuff is amazing.

Floppy ear breeds are especially prone to ear infections.
