Well this projector doesn't compare to any simply because no projector is in its league.

You buy this projector for the sole purpose of having a portable a 4k projector. If you plan on getting a projector for your basement for it to never move, you don't get this one.

There are plenty of other 4k projectors that are better (and worse) in terms of color/quality, luckily this one has amazing color and quality. But again key is portability.

Such an amazing projector. Since it's laser I've left mine on for days, no issues at all.

What's cool that I noticed on accident is I have my HomePod/Hue lights setup to wake me up (morning music) and go to bed (rain) and somehow my projector automatically turns on too, which is nice to wake up to (the display being projected on the ceiling).

How do you justify the $1600 of this versus the $750 optima from Amazon that was 4k. The last projector I bought was an Epson in 2008 for $2000.

Why would you leave it on for days?

The projector sits (well, stands) on the floor, and I watch movies/shows from my bed to the ceiling (it projects about 100" on the ceiling).

As far as leaving it on forever, sometimes I just forget to turn it off. Watch some shows and fall asleep all night, leave the house and accidentally turn it off, etc)

I've been looking for a short-throw laser projector for about a year. This is aa great deal but I don't like the format. I need something that lays flat that one of the kids can't knock over.

I assume like most, isn't real 4k. I haven't checked for a while, but last time I did the cheapest real 4k projector was around $5k.

You would be correct. Also this projector isn't that great for the price. The reason it's priced so high is because of the portability and short throw. If you don't need those features then you're better of getting something else from benq or epson
