This thing attaches to dual shock 4s for playstation 4 systems and basically provides back paddles. MSRP is $29.99 with a release date of Jan 31st or Feb 4th.
However I was able to buy one in store today at walmart for $24.96
With this attachment, will the dual shock be equivalent to the XBox Elite controller?
Not really, no. The elite has 4 paddles built in and lets you do tension controls for the sticks, you can swap the d-pad for different stuff, the grips are better material, the rechargable battery lasts longer, and a million other things. Of course the elite 2 also costs $180 vs $65 for a dualshock 4 plus $30 for this little doohicky so price wise its a big gap.
Its more like this lets your regular DS4 be more like a SCUF. Also word is the Playstation 5 will come with these things built into their dual shock 5s, so this is more like a way for you to use your extra DS4's on your Playstation 5.

Not equivalent but similar. This maps 2 buttons to the back.
The Elite 1 does 4 buttons to the back and also has more options to tweak like analog dead zone and response speed, trigger pressure activation and stop points. Elite 2 adds a rechargeable battery and stick tension.

It was on the floor at my local Walmart in CA. Had 4 behind the glass case where they kept the controllers.
I found them right in the video game section, not even in a glass case. It's a pretty small box fyi.
I'm in CA, if that matters.
