I've searched ebay and Best buy and all that. 1280 for that spec is very good unless you're looking at used.

A glossy screen is generally preferable if the intent is never/rarely to use it in very bright areas. You'll get better color and contrast with the glossy screen. For my use, I'm very anti-matte screens as I feel the picture quality is significantly diminished, but there are others who are the complete opposite. It comes down to personal preference. If its always used in medium to dark lit rooms I'd say glossy is better.
