If 45w is enough for you, I've been using this I got off a previous deal and it's managing to charge my Surface Pro (2017 gen) (using one of the USB C to Surface Pro adapter cords you can find floating around, which seemed kind of sketchy questionable but so far hasn't destroyed anything): RAVPower 45 W GaN USB C PD [amazon.com]. I keep it in my purse, it's so much lighter and more convenient (and can charge my phone too) than the actual SP charger. I thought the GaN stuff was just a gimmick to charge more and thought either the weight difference wouldn't be noticeable or it wouldn't actually be able to run at that wattage, but it changed my opinion.

There's a $5 coupon to clip, which isn't as cheap as this deal or as it previously was, but isn't bad either for something higher wattage.
just an fyi it does not come with any USB cable A C or otherwise
Yeah, the form factor is great. It'll be amazing once the tech gets to the point where we have 100W flowing through something this size. (60W would be awesome right now).

I don't understand the appeal of this charger. It looks like a battery pack but it isn't one. For $4 extra can get a Ravpower 61W cube that weighs 3.7 oz

? That would be a really good price for the RAVPower 61W GaN charger, but the closest I'm seeing is $31 (after $5 off coupon on Amazon). Apparently (after doing some searches) there were some promo codes running for another $5 off, but they all seem to be dead now.

New tech. One port. Not slick enough for me. Even though GaN is the new spec.

GaN is becoming more common place in the electronics community as it's only most recently become cost viable to include in certain power electronics applications (such as this charger). It's still many times more expensive than silicon based transistors, but can switch faster, and more efficiently than its silicon counterpart. It's unlikely you will see GaN in processors due to the cost and density of transistors in a processor, but for power electronics, it's definitely gaining more and more traction (electric vehicles is another area where GaN usage is growing).
