No but the convenience and ease of use more than makes up for the difference in outcome compared to real clay. It's effective enough to do a decent prep for wax and I do see a significant difference in the final look of the car when I use it. Also because it's much more convenience to use I find that I'm able to use it more often as the process is not as involved as using a real clay bar. And yes when you drop it you can just rinse it off which is awesome. Those of you who always wanted to try a clay bar but are apprehensive can give this a try to get decent results while you build your confidence.

Lowest its been, but be careful, dont buy the one being sold by third party at $12.64, get the one sold by Amazon at $12.65. Way too many fakes out there.

Does this really perform well compared to a traditional clay bar?

Not sure about this one, but I have used the sponges before, and it's about 90 percent as effective, just needs a little more elbow grease. Best thing is that you can drop it and it's not trash. I always drop clay.

Yes. It's not perfect but it's at least 95% of the way there and worth every bit of that 5% trade off. This thing saves hours of painstaking clay bar work on just one car and as far as I can tell based on feel, it's just as effective. The only reason I say 95% is because it's not as sticky as regular clay so it probably does miss some particulates but I can't tell the difference and I've used both. I've since switched exclusively and won't look back.

Been using these type of synthetic hybrid clay gloves/mitts/towels since they came out from multiple brands. I believe Eagle One was the first one to start offering these types of product when they were still no bodies, but after that all the manufactures including Mothers jumped onboard.

Now back to your original question, yes I would say even higher than 90% ill go with 99.99% comparable. Why so high, cause it will pass a baggie test no problem! Which usually means all containment's are gone.

I fully detail and restore my cars paint once a year, depending on condition, is how much I do. I touch up every few months, in all seasons but winter, and these things last and last.

Ooh and most importantly dont be a idiot like some people, I dont recall if this speed clay had a break in step on first use, but if it does do it! A lot of bad reviews I seen on these products where people say pieces of the speed clay products are falling apart is because they didn't do the break in, it wasn't the product coming apart it was a protective layer on top of the sponge that had to be removed first. Also dont forget to use a decent amount of lube if your not doing this while you wash it.

I dont follow his stuff, but I know he uses the clay mitts which are similar to this but in mitt form instead of palm.
