------------Reminder that you probably qualify for free tax preparation based on income.
------------H&R Block Online Deluxe can be had for free by those that me the income requirements:

Tax companies are known to lobby to make filing taxes a pain. Most people do not have particularly complex tax needs, and 70% of people in the US qualify for free tax preparation based on income. Below are some resources to help avoid spending too much on your tax preparation. Feel free to copy/paste this info wherever relevant.

If you make less than $66,000 in Adjusted Gross Income you qualify for free tax preparation (looks like it's going to be $69,000 for the 2019 tax year).

The non-profit The United Way offers free tax preparation using H&R Block Deluxe. This allows you to file your Federal returns and create up to 3 state returns for free. The Deluxe version is a step up from H&R Block's most basic "free" offering. Check it out here:
https://www.myfreetaxes.com

Note: While you can produce your state return for free, you may not be able to e-file for free. If that is the case, you can certainly print and mail your return for the cost of postage. Many states also offer their own free e-file solutions. Here is some info on which states offer free e-filing:
https://www.mymoneyblog.com/free-...tates.html

Here are what the different H&R block versions offer for reference:

Here are the forms supported by the Deluxe edition:
NOTE: Slickdeals' affiliate link system strips out the info to get to the appropriate page. I'll include the stuff you need to add after the dotcom to get to these files since there seems to be no way better way.

State

If those don't work, you can navigate to the forms on this page:

Other free filing options:
If for some reason you'd prefer not to use the United Way/H&R Block, the IRS has a list of free tax preparation websites here:
https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-f...s-for-free

The AARP program Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation and assistance at established locations starting Feb 1, now with no income limit, no age limit, and no membership required.
https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/
About the program: https://taxaideqa.aarp.org/hc/en-...-provide-?

If you need more assistance the IRS makes volunteers available to assist people in doing their returns through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and they offer assistance to older adults through the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program. Find a location near you here:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/f...volunteers

Many city and county office also have free tax preparation available to citizens at libraries and government offices throughout tax season. Check your local government website.

YMMV -- it's linked to the email only.

You're welcome! But I wonder why it worked for you and not others, since it seems to be non-transferable. (Which I didn't realize -- sorry about that.)

Wonder why no one has premium + state bundles this year. Yes I know many of premium schedules are available in deluxe but last year I found the premium novice guidance missing from deluxe for rental property income, etc.

Does anyone know if there is any tricks to get 2 states on this program? Or anyone have any experience to get the cheapest deal with dealing with 2 state filings?

Premium by default already includes 1 state. NONE of them includes state e-file, just state tax software. Deluxe + State = 5 Federal e-file + 1 state DOWNLOAD (not e-file). Deluxe by default does not include state software.
