Great price. I'm just concerned about the 19% 1-star reviews it has.

I currently have the E100 and upgrading to the E300.
Works great but as other reviews have said. It needs a decent current of water hitting it.
So I just aim a nozzle towards it.
Using in a Fluval Mega Flex.

How big is that? I've got a 120g reef tank that I'd like to preemptively replace the heater on.

Nice tank!
Only a 32.5 gallon so overkill. Pairing with a Aqueon Pro 200W. So both don't have to work so hard cause the room is cold in the winter.

I was looking for heaters today on Amazon and I can't find any heater with overwhelmingly positive reviews. And I'm just trying to find something for a 10 gallon - bought a "ready to go aqueon" set (for my 8 yr old that I'm getting in to the hobby) which came with this heater [amazon.com] but it's not getting above 76 degrees. I did see some "off brand" stuff with seemingly very good reviews like "orlushy" but afraid to try something like that.

Look into the Hydor in-line heaters for a tank that size. You'll only need one, and they work fantastically

Amazon won't price match they make you return and rebuy. Can't find 10% s.s.

I would honestly pass on this one - I used to like it a lot, but within less than 2 years I already had an episode when it got stuck on a lower temperature and didn't go up for a few days. I don't want to imagine what could've happened if it got stuck on a much higher one. LF indication also seems to randomly pop up all the time.

When I have some free time and money to spend I think I will switch to external controller + simple heater for all my tanks.

Just my 2c. The price is good though, I got it for ~$40 when it was around $50 everywhere and I thought I got a good deal.

I would suggest getting two lower powered heaters instead of one high powered one. Set them both to the same temperature. The reason is that if one of them fails on or off, you'll have a better chance of detecting the issue before the aquarium temperature swings too much.

Today's Ebo Jagers are not as reliable as those made in the 90s. However, the basic design is still better than many other aquarium heaters. I'd get a 50W EJ, and place it at 45 degree near the intake or outlet of a pump. Make sure the top of the heater is just under the water level.

Stay away from Amazon...too many fake stuffs. My last 150W EJ from Petsmart is still running strong after 6 years. It keeps the 50 gal tank's temperature at 71 +/-0.3F during the winter. The room's temperature can drop to 45F at night.
