So we are doing an oil change
"Stripping the oil" is pretty much the point of shampoo. The precious oil you speak of is where the dirt and dead cells reside. You're not removing dirt without removing the oil that harbors the dirt, pointdexter.

Remove oil, replace with other moisturizers like shea, glycerin, vit e etc.
As a guy that's used some when I ran out years ago of my own, I remember borrowing some of this that either my sister had or mom had, but I remember this being one of the only shampoos that really made me realize all shampoo wasn't the same. Probably not the best input, but as far as things like Pantene, Herbal Essence, etc. it's HEADS AND SHOULDERS (pun intended) above them

Second ingredient is Sodium Sulfate which can strip natural oils from the scalp and hair. That can make hair dry and brittle. Kinda counterproductive to the idea of being a moisturizing shampoo. For dry hair, you're better off going Sulfate free.

How is it for oily hair? It says dry to normal and moisturizing... Tried Pantene moisturizing shampoo, didn't like it all, made hair oily and heavy.

99% of all shampoos have it. It's what removes dirt and oil from hair I guess.

Exactly why you should avoid it if you have dry hair as it removes needed natural oils

I've always laughed off Amazon reviews about fake product, but just wanted to share my experience. I bought the Nexxus Keraphix conditioner 33.8oz deal on December 2 for $8.65, thinking I really got a deal!

After the first time using it, my hair was matted to my scalp and very shiny, like I'd combed a bunch of gel through it and let it harden/dry. Thinking I must have been in a hurry and not washed it out thoroughly, I gave it another shot. After the second time in a row of using it, washing it out very thoroughly, and allowing my hair to air dry, same result, but even worse than the first time. Stiff, shiny, matted, making 'crispy' sounds when trying to break up the partitions that formed,... almost like dread locks, but not nice ones...

I went back to read the recent reviews and was horrified to see people fretting about having to cut their hair off after using what they received. Thankfully after 3 washes my hair is back to normal, but it definitely took several very thorough wash+conditions to reverse what had happened.

I am not sure what to make of my experience but at the very least what i received had to have been defective product. So.. buyer beware.
