the ignorance definitely shows 🙉
I have owned this for a week and some info to save people time.
The machine will run with 2x 32gb ram sticks for a total of 64gb of ram. I pulled the original 1tb m.2 ssd for a 2 matching samsung nvme 512gb drives. If you remove the 2.5" hard drive cage you can put in a bigger 62whr battery that eluktronics sells. I opted to use my maxoak powerbank instead which is about the same price as the extended battery but gives me a good 10+ hours of use on the go. The laptop is very close to a standard 15.6" laptop frame size so it fits in my timbuk2 backpack that isn't meant for 17" laptops.

The case itself is a metal lid and plastic body. The body is a very strong plastic as it has the same or less flex as my thinkpad P50. For what you get the machine can't be beat.
And that mx150 is barely a step above integrated graphics these days.

Does the 2 yr extended warranty work for electronics bought outside of Costco? I always thought it only applied to electronics bought within Costco.
I called Citibank Visa Costo Credit Card, they confirmed that the 2 year warranty extension DOES apply to laptop purchased thru WM. In fact he said it adds to any extended warranty as well. He encouraged me to buy the WM Allstate 3 yr as it will add to that so in effect I will have a 6 yr warranty. Manufacture 1 year, 3 yr WM Allstate, then 2 yr Citi Visa.Applause

If you have COSTCO CIti VISA Anywhere, they will add 2 years Extended Warranty to the 1 year, which comes with the Laptop, FREE OF CHARGE if you pay with their card (citi).... and that saves $88.
Even if you don't buy from Costco, as long as you use their card to buy it??

17" is too big for me. I looked at the LG gram 17" while it is nice to have 17", just too big . I don't want to get a bigger backpack especially when I travel. Otherwise this laptop likely rocks like the 15.6" I got the other day

Why a matched pair? Is there some seed benefit to that?

I took the plunge on this laptop last blackfriday and i have no regrets.

The laptop blows my 3770k build away. It's quiet and has a great warranty with it. I haven't been able to game much with it but it does handle vr well. The 1t ssd is very nice too.

One thing i'll say is laptops are now going to shift to the AMD CPU's. But honestly, that's going to be Asus junk for now. As much trouble as i've had with that company, i'll take Wallmart brand any day over them. on top of that, you got to consider if you want a 1600$ laptop vs a 1k china laptop. china making some good stuff these days. they got a 180$ tv tooSmilie

Having used a few 15inchers in my time, if you game or do graphic work, 17inch is better imo

this probably first laptop ive used that i don't always just hook to a tv or monitor when i want to game. Smilie

How do you do that..? I don't have this laptop but I have one that's similar in specs, an MSI GE63 which has 9750H and 2060.
You can do it several ways. Some laptops let you disable the GPU in the bios. Another way is to disable in device manager if on windows. A third way is to goto the Nvidia control panel and set igpu only. Sometimes this can be done in a gaming control center power control. It is also possible to set optimus to run IGPU for the apps you use in the nvidia control panel. The final way is to just let optimus control it and if you don't do heavy things it won't activate. It will vary by model.

Thanks, will try those. For mine, it seems like the RTX is always running even though when I'm not gaming, I'm just web browsing using non-visual intensive stuff (MS Word) or watching videos (which integrated GPUs could easily handle). I'm pretty sure I tried the Optimus method and didn't see any options there. I might try to just disable in the BIOS.

Wow thank you for the informative reply, very helpful. The thing is, I want a current gaming laptop regardless - even if it only winds up holding up for about a year or so. Realistically though, I can't spend over $1,000 out of pocket right now, but if it were somehow possible to use Amazon pay? or to get Amazon to PM this; then I'd probably jump on it...does anybody know of a way to get something like that done these days?
Fyi: there's a payment plan option ($93 a month)

Correct. Btw: there is a really easy to read pdf that explains the Costco citibank visa benefits.
