This might be high quality, but it is incredibly expensive compared to other culinary grade matcha tea.

I dont see how this is a good price. You can get WAY better matcha tea for cheaper. Example is the Japan Madea-En bulk on amazon for $2.44 per oz compared to $5 an ounce for this Chinese garbage.

Stick to Japanese grown for green teas, especially when it comes to matcha.

That tea is meant for cooking or making lattes, not for regular tea drinking.

Good matcha (not quite ceremonial grade) seems to start closer to $15/oz and ceremonial grade matcha is easily $25/oz and up. However, I agree that this is probably not a great deal for culinary grade matcha, though I've really only started looking into the world of matcha.

For flavoring stuff or throwing into a smoothie, I'd probably just look for the best price for unsweetened matcha powder. I'd still prefer Japanese, because Japan has high standards for matcha teas. For making hot matcha or even lattes, I wouldn't buy anything unless I could find a review from someone who regularly reviews tea, preferably a lot of green teas and especially matchas, and ideally knows a little about the brand or has spoken to the owners or vendors who can verify where the tea comes from and its quality. For example:
https://theteacupoflife.com/2015/...s-out.html

I'm just saying, if you're going to drink it and pay good money for it and not just make matcha cake, mochi, and milkshakes, it's probably worth spending a few extra minutes picking something worth your money. Otherwise, just drink regular green tea; it's way easier to find something considered high quality just by buying from a reliable brand or vendor.

The vendor is "The Oriental Organic" who has 11% negative ratings over the last 30 days and has a total of 160 feedback in the last year.
