Guessing they are getting rid of the Nikon F stock.
This is a very popular lens for APS-C & m43 video shooters, but the latter typically opting for the Canon EF version that maintains most of the Electronic functions (including AF) in the widest range of systems with most adapters.
Nikon F mount is the least flexible with those, although you can still adapt it. Nikon focusing on the Z mount lately, won't make it any better. Guessing Adorama are off-loading their Nikon F stock @ cost, or close to. For comparison, Canon EF version is $640ish, and when on sale for $550ish is considered "slick-ish".
