Not a great deal considering a 10TB was $143 yesterday, only if you are desperate and need one. I'm still surprised 8TB's and 10TB's have held their price so high for so long. Let's move on to 12TB's and 14TB's.

$16/TB is a very bad deal. $13 is decent. Anything less is a good deal.

This is true in that the case can always be removed, but some external drives (usually with portables rather than desktop, I believe) actually have the USB connector on the drive itself (rather than use a separate converter board) with no SATA connection.

Maybe small form factor ones ones, but it's very rare. No loose desktop hard drives have a usb controller soldered.

Pretty sure that's what I said, but either way, it's deceptive to say that they're all shuckable, when at least some are not.
