I bought both the kindle (free) and the audiobook (.82) versions intending to put them on a oasis. However I had closed my audible trial account a while ago. Does my purchasing this audible book on the cheap mean I will start getting charged a monthly fee? Sorry about the basic question but I'm not too familiar with audible policies...
TIA

Any audiobooks bought with money or using the "credits" are yours to keep and listen to as much as you like. Have you logged into Audible using the login you used before to see what audiobooks you have in your library?

Yes, I did and see the purchased audiobook in my account. As long as the purchase doesn't mean my membership is "activated" for monthly charges i'm good. Smilie

If I have no rush ship credit, would that apply to this?

Not for the audio book. But you can apply it for the kindle edition. THe advantage as I understand is you can go back and forth between the written and heard word as you please...

I might never listen to any or all of these, but it's worth a few dollars to add a bunch of good titles to the collection.

Can you change the reader voice? I just clicked on a sample, the voice is ear scratching, no disrespect, but it's very distracting.

Just curious which one's narrator is so annoying. I already owned 1, just bought the other 2. The only one I'd consider possibly annoying is "10 essential pieces of literature" but that's more of a "meh" reaction from me than nails on a chalkboard. No, you can't change the voice, what you hear is what you get.

Doesn't sound like librivox narration from the samples, but they could have chosen the best bits, who knows? Anyone listen to them yet?

Public Domain doesn't mean you get free audiobooks though.

No. Buying a book doesn't activate your membership. You're good!
