if you want to be 100% correct, I suppose it's a tripod. but i wouldn't call it a tripod.. kinda like I wouldn't refer to tomato as a fruit, when botanically it is.


basically, it's a monopod with a sturdier base.

Tripod denotes "three legs" (even though POD is "foot" etymologically). This has 1 leg and three feet so... monopod applies.
