Sure...whichever tablet would be great...
I vastly prefer reading books on my $80 Kindle Paperwhite over my $1000 iPad Pro. Sure, you can't watch movies on it, but if you want something that displays books incredibly clearly, is lightweight, and has exceptional battery life, I don't know of a better option. "Overpriced" is certainly subjective, as I've gotten my money's worth and then some.
